I’m a strategist. What the fuck does that mean? I help businesses solve problems that stop them from growing. The way I do that is by using principles of branding to help solve these problems. I work at a company that describes itself as a brand consultancy.
One of my responsibilities is to write “thought leadership” articles that demonstrate our domain expertise in brand consultancy. I’ve written a lot of articles, and I’m really proud of them. But recently, I’ve become blocked. I just don’t know what to write.
But that’s not true. I do know but I can’t write it for our site. I have thoughts on things I read, on work I do, and on trends I see that can’t be shared easily on our site.
That’s not to say that this is a petty vengeance site. I’m not trying to settle scores, anonymously dress down clients, or pick on gurus. There is a reason I’ve put a lol in this site. No one I work with, at every level, is doing the best job they can given the hand they’re dealt. I just can’t explore it, vent it, and then leave it on my site.
I’m hoping to express my points of view more viscerally here so I can write more freely at work.
Why anonymous? I doubt that will stick, it just fits into the freedom that this is giving me. Again, I’m not looking to pull people up; I just almost want to be me when writing. Let’s see how it goes.
